The Rules

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
There are only two requirements:
-ImproFicRoasters must be mildly self-effacing, able to take criticism as well as they give it, and endowed with a good sense of humor. Being mad as a hatter wouldn't hurt, either.
-ImproFicRoasters must have previous fic-writing experience (i.e. a chapter in an impro, a MiSTing). This will guarantee that an ImproFicRoaster will be in good spirits when it is THEIR turn to be roasted.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
-ImproFicRoast "teams" will consist of one villain and up to six roasters.
-One of the admins will describe the potential fic to be roasted along with any special notes in regards to the stories or riffs. He will call out on ImproFicRoast Headquarters, where all ImproFicRoast-related activity will occur, for ImproFicRoasters for that fic. To join up, just reply affirmatively. Two days after the original post, the IFRoster will be posted for said fic. Those on the roster will be the designated roasters for the fic.
-The fic's roast will start with an introduction to be written by the villain (which doesn't always have to be the admin. Hint, hint...). The key is to keep it short and sweet. Introduce the cast (IFRoasters and villain). The designated villain has two days to post the intro on the message board. IFRoasters then have two days to submit their additions/modifications to the intro on the MB. In actuality, timelines are not this strict; we'll take as much time as we need. Still, this is not an excuse to loiter.
-The fic itself will be released on manageable (5-10k) chunks. IFRoasters then have two days to submit their roasts to the MB. The key is to try and build a chain of roasts, one building on top of another. Keep in mind that it's perfectly okay to go back and add riffs to a previous section up to the finalization of the conclusion skit. Though it'd be hunky-dory to keep on schedule, we understand how real life can sometimes suck up precious MiSTing time. When in doubt, ask an admin.
-Once the fic is completely roasted, the villain has two days to write the fic's concluding sketch, which the IFRoasters will have two days to submit their additions/modifications.
-The admin will compile and reformat the intro, roasted fic and conclusion into a single text file. In the case of diverging intros, roastfics and conclusions, each part will be collected and appropriately labeled (i.e. "MultiMediocre Intro Remix", "Stephiconclusion").
-The complete roast will be posted here and submitted to Web Site Number 9. In the case of multiple variations of a roasting, a vote will be enacted on the message board to decide which one to submit.

GENERAL RULES AND NOTES
-The MiSTing process usually starts on a Sunday night or a Monday morning. Check back then after a completed MiSTing for any news regarding the next MiSTing.
-Avoid the "f" and the "s" word. Excessive swearing and bad language won't look nice, and will likely get edited out if used without moderation. We're not complete purists, but we'd like to maintain a good image.
-We aren't roasting lemons. This is a PG-rated impro site.
-Unless otherwise stated, keep attacks on the roasted fic's author to the barest minimum. 99 times out of 100, bite your tongue. And on the 100th time, use severe discretion. Don't say anything that you wouldn't want to have said about yourself. If it adds humor to the riffing, it may be accepted, but stark "the author is an idiot" riffs will be axed.
-Try to keep riffs short and sweet. The occasional funny long riff is okay, and interaction/dialogue between riffers is pretty much a must, but if you have a paragraph of riff for one line of story... oy.
